RES MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the School Counseling Program at Ramer Elementary School is to provide every student with a comprehensive program that teaches academic, personal/social, and career skills to help him/her be a successful lifelong learner, productive citizen, and problem solver.
To work collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators to implement the school counseling program ensuring that all students succeed in school and are prepared for meaningful, productive living.
My name is Ms. Tena Rowsey. I am the School Counselor at Ramer.
An important part of your child's education is learning good social skills. This means, among other things, learning how to get along with other children, making good decisions, controlling anger, accepting responsibility, and being aware of strengths and weaknesses. Many of these skills are taught at home. It is my intent to supplement learning that takes place at home with classroom guidance and individual and small group counseling.
I am also in the school to help students who are facing particular difficulties such as an illness, death, or divorce which may affect children at school. If your family is experiencing anything out of the ordinary or you are aware of any special problems your child may be facing, I welcome the opportunity to meet with you and discuss the matter.
It is important to remember that school personnel and family working together is a winning combination for children.
We concentrate of one of the Six Pillars of Character each month. The following schedule will apply for 2018-19:
August: Introduction to Character Counts
April : Trustworthiness
You are special students and parents. I love working with you!
